IPSERA ONLINE 2021

IPSERA Online Conference 2021 will be focused on “Purchasing Innovation and Crisis Management”. In these unprecedented times, now more than ever, Purchasing requires the application of science and technology, analytical skills and quantitative methods; it also requires a need for creativity and understanding of soft behavioural skills. Digital transformation and the need for online resources and relevant and accurate data is opening up new and exciting opportunities for the management of Purchasing and Supply Chains, making “big data” available and offering analytical tools to manage them. It is also aiding in networking and the sharing of innovative ideas. This enables both disruption of existing practices and outdated technologies, as well as new ways to tackle sustainability challenges, e.g. through better transparency and control of supply chain risk. The current Covid-19 crisis has also brought to the fore the importance of Purchasing and Supply Chains for maintaining resilience, flexibility and agility. The world is looking to Purchasing and Supply Chain professionals and academics in order to understand how to organise their supply chains, purchase securely and responsibly and how to cope in a post-Covid world with more crises on the horizon.
