Leonardo holds a PhD in Business & Management from University of Manchester (2016), an MSc in Business & Management from Coppead Graduate School of Business, UFRJ (2004) and a BSc in Production Engineering from POLI, UFRJ (2000) with Cum Laude honour.
Leonardo has over 20 years of professional experience that includes managerial positions, consultancy and executive training, in various sectors including retailing, consumer goods, industry and media.
Between 2005 and 2014 he has collaborated with Coppead as a part-time lecturer; and since 2015, as a full-time Assistant Professor teaching at MSc, MBA and PhD levels topics such as Operations Management and Supply Chain Management. Leonardo has been Director at Alumni Coppead (2017-2018) term and Visiting faculty at Audencia Business School (2018-2020). His research is focused on transparency and sustainability in supply networks. Publication outlets include Journal of Supply Chain Management, where his paper with colleagues has received the honorary mention to the Harold E. Fearon Best Conceptual Paper in 2016, as well as International Journal of Production Economics, Supply Chain Management: An International Journal and Production Planning & Control, among others. Leonardo currently coordinates the Transparency & Sustainability Network funded by Coca-Cola and FAPERJ [Rio de Janeiro Research Funding Agency].
In March 2018, Leonardo was elected for the IPSERA Executive Committee, and in April 2021 for IPSERA Vice-Presidency.
